Porto Grande hosts Port Facility Security Assessment Seminar & Port Facility Security Plans

As part of the USCG's International Port Security Programme, Porto Grande hosted the "Port Facility Security Assessment / Port Facility Security Plans" Seminar from 6 to 9 November.
The Seminar, aimed at institutions with port security responsibilities and with responsibilities for implementing and/or overseeing the ISPS Code, covered the mandatory components of the ISPS Code for Contracting Governments and port facilities, and was adapted to meet the needs of the host nation, with a focus on making specific port security improvements.
Participants were able to apply the ISO 9001 and ISO 19011 management and auditing standards to verify the compliance of port facilities with local, national and international security regulations.
During the closing ceremony, the Executive Director, Eduardo Lima, representing the company, praised the seminar which, he said, will bring added value to the technicians who took part in it and in particular to ENAPOR in view of the auditing processes for the certification of three more ports, due to take place soon. He also hoped that this fruitful cooperation with the US Coast Guard - USCG would continue.
Representatives from the following institutions took part in the seminar: Enapor, the IMP, the Coast Guard, the São Vicente Health Precinct, the São Vicente Customs Directorate, the General Fisheries Inspectorate, IPIAAM, the Fiscal Police, the National Civil Protection Service and the Fire Brigade.
