ENAPOR - Cape Verde Ports participates in the workshop "Promoting Green and Blue Growth in West Africa with Earth Observation"
19/07/2023
This workshop, held in the city of Praia, whose main objective was to explore the possibilities of creating an Earth Observation Centre in Cape Verde, saw ENAPOR represented by the Administrator of the Port of Praia, Nelson Freire, take part in the panel discussion on "Sustainable coastal zones and ports, their needs and potential OT solutions", with the aim of helping to identify the needs of Cape Verde and West Africa with regard to the sustainability of coastal zones and ports.
On behalf of ENAPOR, Nelson Freire made his contribution to the development of the topic, saying that when it comes to sustainable ports, ENAPOR has invested heavily in the process of technological innovation applied to port management, ensuring the transition to digital ports, focusing on the optimisation of Business Intelligence tools as management models, both internal and external, such as the Single Port Window (JUP), Electronic Stowage, investments in renewable energy systems, the introduction of electrical equipment in cargo handling, among others.
The event was organised by AIR Centre, NOSi and the Copernicus Programme, with the support of the European Commission, under the FPCUP project.
